WC CHALLENGE: #18/25

18/25:

This Umbro kit was worn between February 1984 to April 1987 and featured in the 1986 Mexico World Cup Finals. I’m wearing the World Cup Edition which was worn in the 3-0 win against Paraguay in the knockout phase, round of 16. In my opinion Mexico '86 has the best mascot out of all of the tournaments so far! The official mascot of the 1986 World Cup was Pique, a jalapeƱo pepper, characteristic of Mexican cuisine, with a moustache, a Colimote sombrero, and Mexican football team colours. Its name comes from picante, Spanish for spicy, and was also a pun on the "PK" abbreviation of the football term penalty kick! I had a Kinger Egg toy of Pique when I was a boy!

I’m wearing #8, as worn by Ray Wilkins who sadly passed away in April this year at the age of 61. Ray made 84 appearances for England, captaining the team 10 times.

Today's schedule - Round of 16:
Brazil v Mexico
Belgium v Japan

Yet again, yesterday threw up another shock exit from one of the favourites. Spain lost to the lowest ranking team in the tournament, with both games going to penalties. Brazil and Belgium are today's favourites, so lets see what happens!
