WC CHALLENGE: #24/25

24/25:

This Umbro home kit was worn between February 1997 to February 1999, and featured in the 1998 World Cup Finals in France.

There’s a few moments in this shirt that stand out in my mind: Paul Ince playing on after taking a blow to the head against Italy in a World Cup qualifier in Rome. Michael Owen going on an amazing run from half way to score against Argentina in the quarter-final. And of course David Beckham's kick out at Diego Simeone in the same game, which saw him get a straight red. England went on to lose that game 4-3 on penalties.

I’m wearing #4 as worn by Paul Ince who made 53 appearances for England, captaining 7 games and scoring 2 goals.

Today's Scedule - Play-off for third place:
Belgium v England

To say that I'm proud of the team's accomplishments in this tournament would be a massive understatement. This young team took the weight of the countries expectations on their shoulders so effortlessly, and played with freedom and class. Would it have been nice to see them progress to the final? Of course. But what a journey for a team that is just going to get better and better. With Southgate at the helm I truly believe that this is the start of something magical. All any English fan ever wants is to have a team that'll go out and give 100%, and that's exactly what we have with Gareth's squad. I'm excited to see what the future holds.

But firstly, let's get that third spot ... COME ON ENGLAND!
