25 Days of England: The 2018 World Cup Challenge

The 2018 World Cup Finals begin tomorrow, and this is going to be my 1st international cup away from England.

Unlike England, I came to the realisation that America doesn’t come to a standstill when the World Cup starts. And seeing that the USA didn’t qualify for this summers tournament, there’s unfortunately not much hype in Chicago.

I’m going to miss watching my country’s games in a pub that’s rammed full of England football fans, all feeling slightly over confident of our teams chances of coming home with the cup ... but in reality all preparing ourselves for the team losing on penalties early on in the knock-out stages! (As always, struggling to get a good view of the pubs “big screen”).

A few months back I decided to set myself a challenge to try and help make the most of preparing for, and watching the cup away from home. This challenge quickly escalated and became a labour of love!

Over the course of the cup, there’s a total of 25 days of games. For each day of the tournament, I’m going to wear a different England shirt, featuring a name and number of an England player from that specific era. And of course, finishing the look off with England shorts and socks!

With each post I’ll add some info, including the teams accomplishments when wearing that shirt, the players stats, and the games scheduled for that day.

To say that I’m excited about the World Cup starting tomorrow is an understatement!
Enjoy the next month of games, everyone ... and COME ON ENGLAND!
