WC CHALLENGE: #6/25

6/25:

This Umbro home kit was worn between March 1995 to October 1996, and featured in the UEFA Euro 96 Championship held in England. We beat the Netherlands 4-1 to finish top of the table, but were knocked out by, yes you’ve guessed it … Germany, in the semi-finals losing 6-5 on penalties!
I'll always remember David Seaman saving a penalty against Scotland in the group stage, and then Gascoigne going straight up the other end and scoring a wonder goal to make it 2-0.

I’m wearing #9, as worn by Alan Shearer (one of my favourtie players from the 90's), who scored more goals (7), and played more games (14) than any other player in this kit. Shearer scored a total of 28 goals for the international team over his 9-year England career.

Today's schedule:
Group H: Colombia v Japan
Group H: Poland v Senegal
Group A: Russa v Egypt

I have a massive soft spot for Japan, so will be hoping they do well against Colombia. And I think most people (apart from Russian fans of course) will be hoping for Mo Salah to feature in Egypt's 2nd game of the finals.
